Brewster, Gale star in Classic

Adeyah Brewster was a double winner, while quarter-miler Kyle Gale showcased his talent in the New Year’s January Classic on Saturday at the National Stadium.

Brewster won the Under-20 Girls’ 100-metres hurdles in 14.56 seconds, while her Proformers clubmate Anika Blackman was the Under-17 winner in 14.98 seconds.

Brewster returned to win the Under-20 Girls’ 100 metres in 12.51 seconds from Sarah Belle (12.69).

Gale was a class act in the Men’s Open 400, overtaking his experienced Quantum Leap clubmate Nicholas Deshong to win the third heat in 48.08 seconds. Deshong (48.47) held off Rising Stars’ fast-finishing Dalano Wickham (48.67) to take second. (EZS)
