A 24-year-old welder was remanded to jail after appearing in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Ckeimo Leroy Daren Best, of No. 19 Edgehill Terrace, St Thomas, was not required to plead to supplying a gun to Jonell Williams, and that he did not have a valid licence to do so on February 17.

Prosecutor Constable Kevin Forde did not object to bail for Best, who was represented by Andrew Willoughby.

Magistrate Douglas Frederick remanded him to HMP Dodds until March 22 and transferred the matter to Court No. 2.

Best’s charge allegedly stems from the police-involved shooting last weekend on Green Hill, St Michael, where a wounded man remains hospitalised. ( RA)
