THE WORLD of gastronomic experiences is always changing and The Beach House works to suit the world in which it is set. The excellent team at The Beach House is the heart and soul of the experience that has kept them at the forefront of the restaurant business in Barbados for so many years.
In October of 2010, The Beach House welcomed Dean Alleyne into their family as the food and beverage manager, and he quickly progressed to general manager.
“The Beach House has always been a great place to work. They had been open in Holetown for about a year and were still putting things together when I joined them. Over the years we’ve created efficient and effective service that he has been rewarded through our customers’ obvious satisfaction,” said Alleyne.
Knowing what works and anticipating trends is a goal that The Beach House is constantly working towards.
“Initially, we would change up the menu every year, but now we change it up two or three times a year and frequently add specials to spice things up. However our Sunday Buffet has consistently been the most popular with for both tourists and our strong local following”.
According to Alleyne, “Our most popular dish is our flying fish, and our daily specials are always well received. On Monday the special is often pineapple chicken with roast potatoes and salad, on Tuesday grilled kingfish and cou cou, Wednesday lamb chops, Thursday jerk pork, and on Friday we normally have fried fish Baxter’s road style or barbecue pigtails with breadfruit chips, then on Saturdays Bajan seasoned fried chicken is the favourite. ”
Making things affordable and giving their customers a reason to return is part of what has kept The Beach House at the top of the game.
“Our budget specials are $39 BDS and run in addition to our All Day Menu which starts from noon and goes until 10 p.m. We have also created Seasonal dinner menus to take advantage of fresh local products. We have a winter menu, a festive menu and a spring menu—it gives people a lot more to choose from,” said Alleyne.
“We’re not pretentious, rather very special! With our seafront setting we offer family-friendly, efficient, and effective service, great food, cold drinks and good value” he said.
It’s the team creating the outstanding Beach House experience that accounts for their long standing success and that’s what will keep them going years into the future.
