Shimron Hetmyer is aware of the high expectations, but he does not allow it to bother him. He just goes out there and does his thing.

And he delivered in fine style on Friday in helping West Indies to a series-levelling victory over England in the second One-Day International at Kensington Oval.

His unbeaten 104 off only 83 balls in his 22nd ODI was full of strokes fans have come to expect from the 22-year-old former West Indies Under-19 captain.

“Sometimes, yes, but it’s not really something I think too much about,” he said in reference to high standards spectators expect from him. “I just try to play my game, keep it as simple as possible and execute.”

On reaching his century, Hetmyer
