The Bridgetown Magistrates Courts are currently closed to members of the public with three murder-accused scheduled to appear today.

Even those with matters to be heard have not been allowed on the compound.

Two men are scheduled to appear, charged with the murder of Daryll Harris and the other for the killing of Corey Parris.

Jaleel Kadeem Callender, 25, and 18-year-old Jalen Trimal Jones-Cox have been charged with the death of Daryll Harris on January 15, while 27-year-old Lamar Alex Hewitt has been charged in the killing of Corey Parris on January 23.

Harris, the father of 13, was at his Barbarees Gardens home when a gunman allegedly walked up to him and shot him nine times. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by private vehicle, where he passed away.

Parris also succumbed to gunshot injuries at the QEH, after he was sitting in traffic around twilight at Baxter’s Road when eyewitnesses said a lone gunman walked up to the vehicle and shot him at least five times.

There have been 14 murders for the year, eight by the gun. (SAT)
