Former Member of Parliament Hamilton “Hammie La” Lashley seems to be playing political musical chairs again.

After jumping from the Democratic Labour Party (DLP), to the Barbados Labour Party (BLP), to an Independent and then back to the DLP during his more than 20-year political career, reports have surfaced that he is in discussion with Opposition Leader, Bishop Joseph Atherley, about joining his yet to be named political party.

THE NATION met up with Lashley on Thursday at Parliament, where he was involved in discussions with two separate overseas entities with Atherley and members of his team. But Lashley vehemently denied that he was seeking to return to the political arena again.

“I was here meeting with a theatre company in terms of promoting films in communities across Barbados – no politics was involved in those discussions,” he said.
