PM’s warning

CARICOM leaders have been warned against outside forces that may be trying to divide the region.

Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, gave this caution as he slammed United States President Donald Trump’s decision to only invite a handful of regional leaders to discuss matters in Venezuela.

He said that for the meeting to be truly representative of CARICOM, the chairman, St Kitts and Nevis leader Dr Timothy Harris, would have had to be invited.

“So, any discussion of Venezuela in that context at Mar-a-Lago cuts across the agreed mechanisms that we put in place,” stressed an animated Gonsalves. (TG)
