The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has advised the public that workers are currently carrying out emergency repairs on pumps at the Greens and Applewhaites pumping stations.

The stations have been taken offline in order for the work to be conducted.

Customers in several districts may be affected by low pressure or outages as a result. These are: Woodland, Drax Hall, Drax Hall Tenantry, Rolling Hills, Greens, Drax Hall Hope, Upper Byde Mill, Farm Road, Harmony Cottage, Baird’s Village, Middleton, Perogative, Superlative and surrounding areas in St George.

While repair crews are addressing the issues, water tankers have been mobilised to assist customers in the affected areas as a temporary measure.

The BWA is also experiencing low reservoir levels at the Cave Hill, Shop Hill, Mount Stepney and Castle Grant facilities today. (PR)
