Titus strikes gold

Barbados’ top female junior swimmer Danielle Titus won her first gold medal of the 34th Carifta swimming championships moments ago at the Aquatic Center.

Titus, a sixth form student of the St Michael school swam the 15-17 girls 100 metres backstroke to a new National time of 1.04.60 in front of a massive crowd.

She edged out rival Gabriela Donahue of Trinidad and Tobago and fellow teammate Danielle Treasure who took the bronze medal in 1.07.39.

Barbados also had much to shout about as golden girl Adara Stoddard once again got on the podium, snatching a silver medal in the 11-14, 400 individual medley race. (AGB)
