GEORGE TOWN – Jonathan Miller captured Barbados’ third gold medal at the 48th CARIFTA Ganes at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex here during Monday’s short morning session.

The United States-based Miller overcame a hamstring injury to win the Under-20 Boys’ triple jump for the second consecutive year following his triumph in The Bahamas last year with a best effort of 15.30 metres.

He started with 14.72 but then fouled his next attempt as he didn’t get his take off right.

He then reached  14.49 metres and after slipping to 14.28, a pumped up Miller came up with his gold medal effort.

Miller also had the second best effort of 15.27 metres on his final attempt.
Heading into the evening session on the final day, Barbados’ medal tally now stands at six, consisting of three gold, two silver and one bronze.
