Barbadians will say farewell to Seymour Nurse at Kensington Oval on Friday morning at an official service, but yesterday evening three ex-Cabinet ministers couldn’t wait to say a final goodbye to the former West Indies batting star.

Richard Sealy, Ronald Jones and Maxine McClean, who all had portfolios in the last Government, were among dozens who gathered at Legends of Barbados on Fontabelle, for viewing the body of Nurse, who passed away two weeks ago at the age of 85.

Sealy is a former schoolmate of Nurse’s twin daughters Cherylanne and Roseanne at Miss Carrington’s Primary, while McClean is a product of Black Rock where Nurse grew up.

Legends Sir Wes Hall, Desmond Haynes and Joel Garner led a list of past cricketers that included Cammie Smith, Rawle Brancker, Courtney Selman, Mark Sealy and Lionel Sandiford. (MK)
