Embattled English batsman Alex Hales was taken by the Barbados Tridents in the first round of this year’s Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Draft, held earlier today in London.
The 30-year-old was recently dropped from England’s 1CC Cricket World Cup squad.
The Guardian reported his 21-day ban from the game in April was for an alleged second infraction for recreational drug use and his management team accused the England and Wales
Hales has played 60 Two Internationals and has an average of 31.01 and a high score of 116 not out.
In September 2017, he was suspended and fined, along with bowler Ben Stokes, in the wake of a fight outside a Bristol nightclub.

West Indies captain Jason Holder, who had earlier been announced as the team’s marquee player, was among four returning players. They are fellow Barbados and West Indies players Ashley Nurse and Shai Hope and Pakistan’s Wahab Riaz.
