The Ann Hill School has received a generous donation from British High Commissioner Janet Douglas.

While presenting $2 000 cash to school principal Emelda Bell, Commissioner Douglas explained to the students at their morning assembly that staff members at the High Commission raised funds in different ways to support the school.

An important part of the fundraising effort was selling recyclable items to a commercial company, which, as well as raising funds, was important in reducing garbage going to the landfill.

Douglas said the students held a special place in the hearts of the of High Commission staff, who had chosen the school as their special good cause.

Bell said: “We are delighted to see Mrs Douglas return to the Ann Hill School, and we are so grateful to the High Commission staff for their fundraising efforts for the school.” (PR)
