Several people who attended the Sir Winston Scott Polyclinic yesterday were forced to wait for over an hour because the key could not be found.

The clinic at Ladymeade Gardens, St Michael, opens at 8:30 a.m. but THE NATION was informed that it never opened until 10 a.m.

“A lot of people including old people were out here waiting. A guard told us that the key could not be found. Later a man turned up and handed the guard a key,” one upset woman said, pointing out that there were more than 50 people waiting.

She added that when they finally entered the clinic, a nurse announced that there were 17 patients but they would only be seeing ten because General Practice was being closed at noon.

When contacted, Dr Anton Best, the acting Chief Medical Officer, apologised to the public.

“There was a slight problem. I don’t want to go into details but it was rectified and they got the keys and opened the clinic. We humbly apologise for the inconvenience,” Best said. (MB)
