Stern warning to PSVs

The wrath of the Transport Authority will be unleashed on owners of public service vehicles (PSVs) if routes are not serviced properly.

The warning has come in the wake of frustrated residents in Fairy Valley, Christ Church, and surrounding areas lodging a petition with the authority over being forced to walk two miles to and from their homes when the PSVs stopped short.

Chairman of the state-run agency, Ian Estwick, said yesterday that if the authority had to flex its muscles and revoke permits to ensure that, it was willing to do so. He added there had been several complaints about PSVs not completing the designated route.

Chester Yarde, a long-time Fairy Valley resident and the man rallying the affected commuters, said some of the ZR workers had threatened passengers or ordered them not to get into the vehicles. (SB)
