Man in custody after stabbing incident

A man is in custody after a stabbing incident involving two visitors.

The man, whose name has not been released, was in an altercation with the visitors at Mount Standfast Beach, St James, around 3:35 p.m. yesterday.

The two Canadians were said to be relaxing near Ju Ju Bar when they were approached by a man who offered to sell them a painting painting which they believed was too expensive.

There was an exhange of words and both were stabbed during the altercation.

They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital via ambulance.

A knife was also recovered at the scene.

Police investigations are continuing and anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or has knowledge of it, is asked to contact Holetown Police Station at telephone number 419-1700, Police Emergency 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800 –TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. (PR/SAT)
