LEICESTER – The West Indies Women have shifted focus from T20 cricket and Ireland to One Day Internationals against England.
The first match will be today at Grace Road in Leicester.
The team trained at Loughborough Sports University facilities to get accustomed to English pitches. Both Head Coach Henderson Springer and Captain Stafanie Taylor were pleased with the preparations but are cognisant of playing England in English conditions.
Taylor said, “Ireland was completely different. This is business, points start to roll now…”, while Springer acknowledged the “difficult assignment but we’ve got the players to handle the situation and perform”.
The West Indies Women, who are currently seventh on the ICC Women’s Championship points table with 11 points, will play England Women on June 6, 9 and 13 in three One-Day Internationals, then three T20 Internationals on June 18, 21 and 25.
Full Squad: Stafanie Taylor (captain), Hayley Matthews (vice-captain), Britney Cooper, Afy Fletcher, Karishma Ramharack, Chedean Nation, Chinelle Henry, Kycia Knight, Kyshona Knight, Shakera Selman, Shamilia Connell, Shemaine Campbell, Natasha McLean, Stacy Ann King.
