Enter the PdP.

Barbados’ newest political organisation was launched yesterday, with leader and president, Bishop Joseph Atherley, saying the People’s Party for Democracy and Development is now the country’s best bet as an alternative solution to what exists today.

The PdP was launched without glitz or glamour, at a 90-minute introduction to the country, at The Pavilion, along Hastings, Christ Church.

At an elongated head table, Atherley, the Opposition Leader, introduced 13 other members who are expected to be the main players in the PdP, while reiterating the need for the type of governance that his new party would be making its hallmark.

The MP for St Michael West said that based on face-to-face interaction with citizens since the party was formed last November, it was no exaggeration that some Barbadians were already disappointed with the performance so far of the one-year-old Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Government. (BA)
