I NEED HELP!

That was the desperate cry of 64-year-old, Cheryl Gooding, who is bedridden and forced to spend all her days lying in bed because she has no-one to care for her.

In addition, Gooding, who has been living in Licorish Village, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael,  since 1988, has never had running water at her home because she is a squatter.

“It is hard,” cried Gooding, who is diabetic and unable to walk.

The only help she gets is from a man who brings water in a bottle for her on mornings so she can wash herself, and a cup of tea, and returns around 5 p.m. to give her a meal and make sure she is okay for the rest of the night. She pays him a small amount for his efforts. She also receives food once a week from another friend. (MB)
