Police name man killed at Well Gap

A group of men who were playing dominoes under a street light at Well Gap, St Michael, early this morning ran for cover when they heard gunshots.

When they returned, the body of 28-year-old Emelien Peter of Medeville Heights, Prior Park, St James, was lying in a pool of blood.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are carrying out investigations into the incident which occurred around 12:30 a.m.

The island’s murder total for 2019 is now 30, surpassing 28 for last year.
