The Darcy Beckles Barbados Diamond Cup is reaping sweets for hometown competitors.
That’s because six of them now have pro status in the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) ranks after stellar performances on Saturday afternoon at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Conference Centre.
Zico Best (men’s classic physique), Lynette Thompson (body fitness), Dionne Clarke (wellness fitness), Kirk Alleyne (bodybuilding), along with men’s physique competitors Jamil Jones and Hadley Hoyte, have graduated from the amateur ranks after each earned a top three place.
A much improved Jones, showcasing a tighter waist and a more streamlined physique than his last time on stage, beat Hoyte, the national champion, for the first time. (MK)
