Surfer Chelsea Tuach’s medal hopes at the Pan Am Games have nosedived.

Tuach could not find her best wave or shot as she went down in the women’s open repechage round two heat to Colombia’s Isabella Gomez 10.83 to 13.40 in Peru, yesterday.

Tuach had defeated Gomez in her opening round on Sunday. chelsea-tuach

Gomez began the challenge with 6.90 on her first wave with Tuach responding with 6.00. With Gomez carving a consistent 6.50 on her next wave Tuach trailed with a 4.83 which sank one of Barbados’ greatest hopes of a medal at the Games.(KB)
