The absence of financial statements at the Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) annual general meeting on Wednesday night has forced a two-week delay in the highly anticipated elections between president Conde Riley and his predecessor Joel Garner.
Given the unavailability of the statement of accounts for the year ended March 31, 2019, BCA members voted to adjourn the meeting until August 21 and set August 29 as the new date for the 17th special meeting of members to elect a president, secretary and three directors.
While Garner lamented the absence of the financials on the floor of the meeting at the Radisson Aquatica Resort, Riley apologised to members for the failure to produce the accounts which he said was due to circumstances beyond the control of both the board and the auditors, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
