Pan Am Games’ and outstanding national athlete Jadon Brome has hopped, skipped and jumped to the University of Houston after receiving a full scholarship stemming from his outstanding athletic year.

“It was great, exciting news for me and I was really happy that a university like Houston can be interested in me and they did say I could be one of the better jumpers in the next four years, probably qualifying for the Olympic Games,” explained Brome.

He is the reigning Under-20 boys’ long jump and triple jump champion after winning both events at the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Athletic Championship (BSSAC) while breaking the zonal record in the long jump. Although Brome won both events, he explained he was slightly disappointed with his triple jump distance of 15.23 metres as he was trying to break the BSSAC record.   (NU)
