President of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in Barbados yesterday for a three-day visit designed to strengthen relations between the two countries and to forge bi-lateral ties.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley laid out the red carpet for the African Head of State, according him a 21-gun salute shortly after he and his wife, Kenyan First Lady Margaret Kenyatta alighted from the plane at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
Last night, the President and First Lady paid a courtesy call on Governor General Dame Sandra Mason and attended a reception at Government House.
One of the items on today’s itinerary will be bilateral talks with Mottley and several ministers at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC), Two Mile Hill, St Michael, ahead of the signing of an agreement. The First Lady has her own itinerary related to children and the youth.
The pair will depart on Friday. (GC/PR)
