Brathwaite and Swift give Barbados medal hope

Barbados’ hopes of a medal at the 2019 Pan American Games were boosted as Shane Brathwaite and Greggmar Swift advanced to the final of the men’s 110 metre hurdles in Lima, Peru. 

Swift came second in heat one with a time of 13.59 seconds. Freddie Crittenden of the United States was the winner (13.53) while Brazil’s Edwardo Dos Santos was third. (13.63)

Brathwaite also finished runner-up in his heat in 13.49 seconds. Brazil’s Gabriel Oliveira will go into tomorrow’s final with the fastest time of 13.42 seconds. Jarret Eaton of the United States came third. (13.71)
