UPDATE: Silver Hill shooting victim in serious condition

Police have identified the man shot yesterday at Silver Hill, Christ Church, as 25-year-old Oneal Alistaire Chase of Block 2D Maxwell View, Silver Hill, Christ Church. 

Lawmen say that Chase was shot in the face during an altercation with another man. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and is currently in serious condition. 

Police Public Relations Officer Inspector(ag) Rodney Inniss, said Chase was walking in the area when a man approached him on foot. 

“As the man got closer, he and the victim became engaged in a heated argument. The assailant then pulled a firearm from his waist and fired in the direction of the victim, striking him in the face,” Inniss said. 

Police investigations are continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed this event, or who may have knowledge of it, is asked to contact the Oistins Police Station at 418-2612/2608, the Police Emergency number 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800–TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. (PR/KOB)
