IDL Walkers Sand Quarry Isolation Cavaliers rolled all over JCB Boscobelle in one of the most one sided finals of the Barbados Cricket Association’s 40-Over Shield competition at the North Stars Sports and Social Club in Crab Hill, St Lucy yesterday.

The Lakes, St Andrew-based Cavaliers, playing in their fifth final in 11 years, crushed their St Peter rivals by 119 runs with more than 200 balls to spare, dismissing their northern rivals for 53 off 16.3 overs after themselves accumulating 172 in 39.1 overs.

Captain Jamaine Bullen led his men from the front with a five-wicket return that all but decimated the Boscobelle batting effort. He found an equally destructive ally in medium pacer Jamel Morris whose three wickets from eight overs cost 29 runs.

Bullen, who was predictably adjudged the Player-of-the-match, was lost for words to describe his delight at leading the Cavaliers to their third capture of the major limited overs title for clubs of the lower divisions. (WH)
