It took the photo finish camera to separate Joshua and Stealin in yesterday’s featured BTBA Breeders’ Sprint in memory of Francis Cozier at Garrison Savannah.

The duo, who hooked up entering the homestretch, flashed past the line together stretch in a pulsating duel for supremacy in the 1 100-metre race for Barbados-bred three-year-olds and older.

The judge’s verdict by a nose went in favour of race favourite Joshua for owner and trainer Sean Hall and jockey Affrie Ward. It was the eight-year-old Joshua’s his ninth career win.

The win was one of a brace for Ward.  (LY)
