Despite the all clear being given, the passage of Tropical Storm Dorian is still resulting in heavy showers and gusts of wind.

There are some vehicles on the road, including police, but gas stations, such as Esso Rendezvous, remain closed.

A check at the Hawthorne Methodist Church in Worthing, Christ Church, showed no activity and the doors were locked, suggesting no one used it as a shelter.

Some ZRs were seen on the road, but most of the bus stops were empty.

Management of Sharkey’s Bar at St Lawrence Gap were inside inspecting for any damage. A representative said they suffered no damage and planned to reopen once the utilities were all online and the okay was given.

As the day progressed, Barbados slowly resumed normal operations. The number of vehicles on the roads has increased and more people are waiting at the bus stops.

The all clear was given around 5 a.m.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley chaired the meeting of Government officials and it was announced that Transport Board buses would resume service at 8 a.m. and businesses would open two hours later. (CA)
