At 100 years old, Lilian Straker is standing strong and not taking any nonsense from her numerous grandchildren.

The centenarian, a plantation labourer who raised six children, one of whom is deceased, is giving thanks for having reached 100, especially after being affected by cancer a decade ago.

Straker, who still walks to church every week, celebrates her birthday today and though she will not be having a visit from the Governor General, said she will spend the day happy in the knowledge of having lived a good, long life, walking with the Lord. (CA)
