Current student enrolment at the Cave Hill campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) is showing a marked increase for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Principal Professor Eudine Barriteau told newly-registered students Friday the institution was ranked in the top five per cent of the world’s universities by the Times Higher Education Survey, number one in the Caribbean, and 32nd in Latin America.
“Our enrolment to date of new and returning students stands at 4 839 undergraduate and postgraduate students of which 440 are graduate students.
The total enrolment represents a ten per cent increase for the comparative date last year,” the principal told the matriculation ceremony. (HH)
