It’s going to be rainy day in Barbados.

While the centre of Tropical Storm Karen is moving through the southern Windwards, Barbadians should still brace some showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the next 12 to 18 hours.

At 11:00 a.m today The Barbados Meteorological Services advised that Tropical Storm Karen had progressed to near: .12.5N 61.7W or ABOUT 160 Miles/165 KM SW OF BARBADOS.

The BMS also said that East-southeasterly to southerly swells of 2.5 to 3.0m (8 to 10ft) are likely to affect the marine area. Thus, a High-Surf Advisory and Small-Craft Warning also remains in until 6:00 a.m Monday 23rd September, 2019. A High-Surf Advisory is issued when breaking wave action poses a threat to life and property within the surf zone. A Small-Craft Warning means in this case, that wind-speeds of 25 to 30 kt (45 to 55km/h) and /or seas greater than 3m (10ft) will be affecting the marine area.
