French Village and Vauxhall in domino final

French Village and Vauxhall will clash in the senior final of the Casa Blanca Sports Bar 185 Points Tournament on Sunday at the Maxwell Coast Road, Christ Church venue.

The St Peter Villagers ousted defending champions KC Joint 185-175 in their quarter-final play-off on September 15. Sheridan Hinds and Shania Dorsett slammed their way to 35 points, while David Brathwaite and Khaliya Roach got 34.

In the semi-finals, French Village stopped Carlton and A One Braves 185-159, with Brathwaite and Roach earning 31 points. Jerston Hinds and Kathy-Ann Hinds also contributed 30 points.

Vauxhall came from behind to pull off a 185-184 play-off victory over Speightstown, who were leading 182-178.

Vauxhall won the decider with Kirtley Best and Anderson “Woody” Worrell, who ended with 41 points, winning 7-2 against the usually reliable Julian Gibbons and Carol Ann Blackman.

Buoyed by that victory, Vauxhall totally outplayed R.L. Seale QEH in the semi-final 185-170. Ali Bryan and Michael Waldron pounded the tables for 40 points while Ricky Jones and Allan Forde supplied 34 points.

In the Intermediate playoff match, BNOC also had to play a decider to win their game 185-183 against Welchman Hall and Leroy Eversley and Charles Drayton chalked up 35 points, as well as Terry Yearwood and Winston Bailey for BNOC, who then lost their semi-final 177-185 to Evergreen.

Joseph Francis and Kathy Doughty slammed 33 points while Mona Layne and Douglas Dawe got 31 points to lead Evergreen to the finals where they meet RM Cleaners, who brushed aside Peace and Love 185-158.

In the Juniors, Locked and Loaded easily won from BUT 185-149. Leading scorers were Roger Yearwood and Wendy Sealy with 33 points.

Locked and Loaded will meet Checker Hall in the final. Checker Hall beat Newbury 185-174 with Peter Field and Melvin Bailey gaining 34 points. (EZS)
