THE 2019 knockout kings Omega XL Deacons seem set to add the Goddard Enterprises Limited’s league crown to their long list of volleyball crowns after scoring another easy victory when the Division 1 action resumed on Sunday at the Wildey Gymnasium.
Deacons employed brutal attack and stifling defence as they wasted little time in dismissing Foundation United 25-16, 25-21, 25-20 to move to ten maximum points from two wins.
Foundation, who had flatteringly led the men’s table with two straight wins have now dropped to 2/2 to hold seven points.
Cawmere, who had lost the knockout finals to Deacons, seemed to have also given up their shot at the league after being stunned by the unfancied All Stars. (KB)
