An honest bus driver was rewarded yesterday as a grateful woman showed her appreciation.

Harriett Griffith, of Ashton Hall, St Peter boarded the 12:30 p.m. ABC Highway bus on October 12 to get home. On arrival, she set about usual duties, oblivious she had left something vital behind.

“I didn’t even know my purse was missing until a truck drove up to my house and the bus driver asked if I knew Harriett Griffith. I thought I had forgotten to pay the fare or something,” she said.

The flustered woman went to fetch her purse only to find she did not have it. Her relief was palpable when Terry Russell, the bus driver of 14 years’ experience, produced it. (CA)
