Alan Burke, one of the best surfers Barbados has ever produced, says his son, Josh, is better than he ever was.
Burke, who dominated surfing in the 1990s along with the flamboyant and gifted Mark Holder, thinks that the 22-year-old Josh, is at another level.
“To be honest, people are coming up to me and asking me if I am Josh Burke’s dad and it is getting a little perturbing for me. I might have to get back into training and come back and see if I can put him in his place, but all jokes aside, he has passed me.
“He is doing manoeuvres that I never even thought of. Those aerial rotations, he did one in the final. I have never even tried one. It is a different era. . .” Burke said. (MK)
