Moves are afoot to get another secondary school renamed after late educator Louis Albert Lynch.
Vice-president of the Modern High School Old Scholars Association, Michael Merritt, said Lynch’s legacy was such that he was deserving of his name on a functioning building of education.
“He had an impact on all of us and even after Modern closed in 1978, his influence was still strong. We’re working on getting another school named after him so his memory is officially continued,” he said.
Merritt said he could not put his finger on why Lynch’s former students kept his memory alive so strongly. He added there was just something about having been taught by Lynch that bound them together. (CA)
