Pot House road under repair

The potholes in Pot House, St John, will soon be a thing of the past.

On Saturday, Member of Parliament Charles Griffith said roadworks had begun after an outcry by residents about the deplorable state of the main road to their homes.

Griffith was speaking after he and his assistants distributed offer of purchase letters to over 20 squatters in Welch Village and Bath Land, also in St John.

Last Monday, the DAILY NATION highlighted the state of the road which residents said had become even worse after the ongoing water mains upgrade and recent heavy rains. They complained it was extremely dangerous, putting motorists and pedestrians in harm’s way.

The same day, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, along with other Cabinet ministers, Government officials and members of the private sector, surveyed the damaged area and promised action. (SB)
