Gold Cup winner Celestial Storm signed off her 2019 campaign with a demolition of the top-class horses in the feature grade I – Diamonds International/ Crown of Light Boxing Day Stakes and Trophy yesterday at the Garrison Savannah.

Under repeat champion jockey Rasheed Hughes, who starred on the Barbados Turf Club final day by winning a treble, the Estate of C.N. Parravicino’s filly served notices she is ready to defend her Gold Cup crown in early March next year.

She majestically cantered away from her four other opponents in the 1 570-metres spectacle for three-year-old and older rated 140-122 and below to enhance her chances of being named Horse Of The Year. (LY)
