More Barbadians are being encouraged to learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other life-saving techniques.

British visitor Will Farrer made this plea yesterday after he helped rescue one of two brothers in their early teens who were on the brink of drowning at Sandy Lane Beach, St James.

Had they been under any longer or if he was not trained in this area, Farrer said he would probably have a different story to tell.

“I think CPR and basic first aid is invaluable, really. I’m no expert, but it made the difference today,” he told the Weekend Nation.  (TG)
