Kemar Peter Jamal Ward has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and three counts of illegal drug activity.

Ward, of Parish Land, Christ Church, was alleged to have a .45 calibre semiautomatic pistol in his possession when police were conducting an operation at Brydens Avenue, Britton’s Hill, St Michael, on Monday.

A warrant to search his home was obtained and it was during this exercise that police reportedly found a quantity of vegetable matter, suspected to be cannabis.

Ward was charged with possession of one .45 calibre semiautomatic pistol without a valid licence, possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and trafficking of cannabis.

He appeared at the District ‘A’ Criminal Court Number 1 before Magistrate Douglas Fredericks today and was remanded to HMP Dodds.

He is scheduled to appear in Criminal Court Number 2 on January 20, 2020 and in District ‘B’ Court on January 7 on the drug charges. (PR/SAT)
