All ten of the country’s new garbage trucks should be on the road by next week.

That promise has come from chairman of the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA), Senator Rudy Grant.

In a media statement released yesterday, Grant said their main aim was to get garbage off the streets as fast as possible over the first week of 2020.

On Monday, three of the new left-hand-drive compactor vehicles started removing refuse from several St Michael communities. The pace is expected to pick up later this week, said Grant.

“This morning [yesterday] we had six more of the new trucks in operation, and we expect that by Thursday (tomorrow) there would be another two operating as well. By Monday, all would be in operation.” (BA)
