THE Lawrence T. Gay Memorial Primary School will remain closed for the rest of the week, but the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) is satisfied that the Ministry of Education is addressing the school’s concerns.

The Ministry of Education made the announcement of the closure yesterday following meetings held with staff of the school and other authorities.

Environmental issues dating back to 2016 stirred once again at the Spooner’s Hill, St Michael school earlier this week, forcing its closure on Monday. Classes had to be conducted under the trees on Tuesday.

A press release issued by the ministry last night stated that ministry officials also met with representatives of the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations.
