There will be no women’s league competition in the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association’s (BABA) 2020 season.

This and other changes are designed to pave the way for more efficiency, says BABA president Francis Williams.

“Coming out of the strategic session that we had with the ladies at the end of the year and with further discussion, one of the things that we have decided is that there would be no league season for the ladies this year,” Williams said at the opening of the new season and 2019 awards ceremony last Sunday night at the Golden Sands Hotel.

“However, we will be using more frequent and shorter tournaments and rallies in an effort to maintain interest among the ladies.” (RG)
