Breakthrough in Silver Hill shooting

A Christ Church youth was remanded to HMP Dodds, charged in connection with a shooting incident which occurred in his neighbourhood on Errol Barrow Day.

Jahlany Tramaine Yarde of 6B Silver Hill Drive, is scheduled to return to court on February 27 after appearing before Magistrate Elwood Watts at the Oistins Magistrates Court this morning.

Yarde, who is in his 20s, was charged with unlawfully wounding Orerand Oliver with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or do some serious bodily harm, damaging a shop belonging to Emrene Durant and having a firearm without a licence on January 21, 2020.

Oliver told police he was driving through the neighbourhood around 7:45 a.m. when he heard shots, but did not realise he had been shot. He sustained injuries to the right side and right side of his back.

Yarde is also facing other charges dating back to 2019.

These include unlawfully and maliciously wounding Cameron Holder on December 22 and assaulting Sherissa Dublin, occasioning her actual bodily harm on October 31. (PR/SAT)
