Dacian Griffith’s excuse for riding the sidewalk on Black Rock Main Road, St Michael, was that the minibus driver in front of him stopped suddenly in the middle of the road to prevent him from overtaking.
But the Bridgetown Traffic Court did not buy the minibus driver’s story.
As he viewed the video footage yesterday, Magistrate Graveney Bannister noted Griffith could have killed an elderly man on the sidewalk.
“This was a form of driving that came dangerously close to a serious accident,” the magistrate said as he confiscated Griffith’s driver’s licence and prohibited him from driving any kind of public service vehicle (PSV) for six months. (HLE)
