PRIME MINISTER MIA AMOR MOTTLEY says she cannot give Barbadians assurances there won’t be more layoffs, or that taxes and fees will not increase.
But Mottley, who is Minister of Finance, made it clear the administration “will not in any way topple the apple cart for individuals or companies”.
The Prime Minister was responding to questions yesterday at the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s luncheon at Hilton Barbados Resort.
She explained that the big corporate tax cut meant that Government had $40 million less revenue and had to get funding in other ways.(SC)
