Run on masks, hand sanitisers

Hand sanitisers and masks are at the top of many shopping lists these days.

Representatives of retail stores and pharmacies made the observation recently after they noticed increased sales of both products as Barbadians try to protect themselves against the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

Managing director of Massy Stores, Randall Banfield, said their stores were among those where sanitisers were flying off the shelves.

However, he estimated that it could also soon become more difficult to get substitutes such as rubbing alcohol and disinfectant sprays as Barbadians research effective alternatives to sanitisers. (TG)
