Effective immediately, the sale of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders will be restricted to one cylinder per person.

Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Wilfred Abrahams, in a release today, has asked people to stop hoarding LPG cylinders.

“Currently, the LPG marketers have adequate supplies of gas to service the market for several weeks. In addition, regular ships are scheduled to replenish supplies, and these supplies are expected to continue without interruption,” he said.

“The hoarding of cylinders by the public creates unnecessary stress on the systems as it contributes to a shortage of bottles for refilling and distribution,” the minister explained.

The public is also asked to return empty bottles to gas stations as soon as possible. (BGIS)
